Food on the Farm
New this year, we will be exploring how we grow, make, and sell our own food on the farm. Campers will learn safety related to tools used for cooking, create a healthy recipe book to bring home, harvest and clean vegetables, try new foods, and even host a "Farm Cafe" to share their delicious meals with their families!

June 23-27
American Sign Language on the Farm
Join us as we explore the farm one sign at a time! This "hands-on" week will be taught in American Sign Language (ASL). Campers will learn greetings; simple ASL poems and chants; farm, animal, & food signs; common conversational phrases, and much more!

Registration and Programs for Ages 11-15
Clann Cadhoit
Coyote Clan
For these two half-day weeks, we are excited to welcome our pre-teens and teenagers to our program! As we all know, this age group has very different social, emotional, and cognitive needs than other age groups. So, of course, our program and daily rhythm will look different, too!
-
The 11-15 year old group will be divided into two Clanns: Coyote Clann and Bobcat Clann
-
Coyote and Bobcat Clanns will have their own Base Camp space in the forest, where all explorations will begin and end!
-
Both "Food on the Farm" and "ASL on the Farm" weeks will be project-based learning weeks.
-
Project-based learning begins with an essential question and challenge for each week:
-
"Food on the Farm" Week
-
Question: How do we maximize the productivity of a farm for growing food?
-
Challenge: Create a model that demonstrates maximum productivity of a farm.
-
-
"ASL on the Farm" Week
-
How do plants, people, and animals communicate without using sound?
-
Challenge: Focus on one plant or animal and its non-verbal communication methods and create a model explaining how this method works.
-
-
These questions and challenges will generate explorations that each Clann will work through during the week, culminating in completion of a final project.
-
PLEASE NOTE:
-
Registration for this age group REQUIRES an onsite visit. This visit will include a short screening process to enter into the program. We are looking for pre-teens/teenagers that are inquisitive, creative, and have intrinsic control over their emotions and behaviors.
-
The registration fee will include: a spiral bound journal, watercolor set and paintbrushes, and a small cotton backpack that children can keep!
-
NO electronic devices (airpods, apple watches, phones, etc) are allowed so that children can focus on the fun at the camp! (Let us know if children need devices for accessibility or health reasons)
